Show was to be held at Saratoga Arts; now its online

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Saratoga Arts has cancelled The 120° Intercollegiate Regional Exhibition; an opening reception was scheduled March 28 in The Arts Center Gallery. Instead the organization has gone virtual with an online show.

We have provided a sneak peek of the award winners. The full show is available here.

Saratoga Arts has partnered with Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council and the Arts Center of the Capital Region to present the exhibition. Developed by LARAC in 2013 to support college students, it provides visibility for students’ artwork and an educational platform to introduce young artists to professional opportunities and local arts communities. The annual juried exhibition rotates among the three partner organizations each year, highlighting the best of artwork created by students who currently attend accredited colleges and universities located within 120 miles of Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, and Troy. The artwork in this exhibition was created by 67 college art students enrolled in 15 colleges in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

The 95 pieces in the exhibition were selected by guest juror Daniel Buckingham, professor of Sculpture at PrattMWP in Utica. In addition to selecting the work, he selected six artists to receive Juror’s Choice and Honorable Mention awards (all shown here).
