Lee Tannen’s ‘I Loved Lucy’

Tannen plays himself with Sandra Dickinson recreating her role as America’s iconic comedian Lucille Ball in this production, making its New York premiere directly from its critically acclaimed production on London’s West End. Distantly related by marriage Tannen met Ball as a child but cemented their friendship during the last decade of her life—years mostly spent out of the spotlight and around a backgammon table. “I Loved Lucy” is an ode to the real life hilarious character of Ball and the way she chose to spend her last years.

American Modern Opera Company
