‘Millennium Actress’ Remastered
Experience the restoration of what many believe to be Satoshi Kon’s (“Perfect Blue,” “Paprika”) greatest work. In “Millennium Actress,” filmmaker Genya Tachibana and his crew interview reclusive star Chiyoko Fujiwara. As she recounts her faraway career, the crew are pulled into her memories, witnessing her encounter with a mysterious man on the run from the police. Despite never knowing his name or his face, Chiyoko relentlessly pursues that man in a blend of reality and memory. After the film, stick around for a conversation with “Millennium Actress” producers Taro Maki and Masao Maruyama as they reflect on making the film and Kon’s legacy.
@ Regal Cinemas, Colonie | 7 PM | $12.50
