CALL FOR WORK: Holiday Makers Market at Arlene’s
Local makers and artists of unique products are welcome to take part in the holiday market, which will take place Nov. 23, Dec. 7 & 21, 11 AM – 4 PM. There are only seven booths available for each date so seven different makers will be chosen to showcase their work per date with a total of 21 makers chosen in total. OPEN SUBMISSION: Young Artists Competition 2019-2020 “My Family Heritage”
The World Awareness Children’s Museum hosts this statewide competition for NYS resident artists who are kindergarten age through 8th grade, open today. The theme for the 2019-2020 competition is: “My Family Heritage.” There is a $5 submission fee (payment by cash or by check to be made out to the World Awareness Children’s Museum.) with a limit of 1 piece of art per child. All submissions must be 2D artwork no larger than 16 x 20 in, unframed and unmounted. Entrants must include the bottom portion of their 2019-2020 submission form with their submission which can be downloaded here, as well as a short note about the entrant’s art. Submit artwork to: World Awareness Children’s Museum, 89 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY, 12801 or drop off in person at our museum. The submission deadline is Nov. 15, the jury decision takes place Jan. 10, 2020 and the finalist art show will be Jan. 24

Masterpieces Under the Microscope: Andrea della Robbia’s ‘Virgin Mary’
The statue, dated to 1480, is unveiled for the first time since undergoing conservation at Williamstown + Atlanta Art Conservation Center. Through a grant from the Greater Hudson Heritage Network, Virgin Mary was carefully removed from Hyde House to be conserved there, as cracks in the glazed surface were filled and patches made to the Virgin’s cloak, shoulder and the back of her head.

Auditions: Lights Up Productions’ ‘BLOOD BROTHERS!’
Please prepare 30 bars of a musical theatre song of your choice to be performed with a karaoke or instrumental track of your selection (An AUX cord and speaker will be provided for your use). No a cappella auditions will be permitted and no accompanist will be provided. No dance audition required and readings from the show will be done as needed. Auditions: Theater Voices production of ‘The Treasurer’ 
In “The Treasurer.” Ida Armstrong is on her own in Albany, spending all of her children’s money and forcing her son to assume the unwanted role of The Treasurer. In this dark comedy, by Max Posner and directed by Tony Pallone, Posner chronicles the strained ties between a son and his aging mother.
