AUDITION: Albany Civic Theater presents ‘American Soldiers’
Directed by Dennis Schebatta, this play follows “the patriarch of a politically prominent Long Island family fights to hold the family together when his eldest daughter, an Army veteran, returns from the Middle East for an uneasy homecoming. The daughter, emotionally scarred from her military service, is struggling to take her ex-boyfriend and sister away with her to start a new life in Colorado. Her aim is to liberate them of their hometown influences of society, religion and class that pressured her to enlist.” Auditions will consist of readings from the script. AUDITION: Confetti Stage presents Katori Hall’s ‘The Mountaintop’
WAMC’s The Linda will partner with Confetti Stage, Inc. to stage this production, directed by Jean-Remy Monnay, for Black History Month. “‘The Mountaintop’ is a fictionalized, fantastical take on the final moments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This unforgettable story is about Dr. King’s strange encounter with a mysterious maid who enters his room in the Lorraine Motel in 1968.” Black actors are needed to fill the two roles.
