Art Crawl
Bring those babies to the museum! Little ones and their caregivers are invited to explore and play in the art space that includes activities planned especially for the children.

Schenectady & Me Human Mosaic Event
Show up and grab a mosaic tile to hold over your head while a drone captures this community artwork overhead in the hopes of creating the largest human mosaic in the region. Afterwards, a new community sculptural bench will be unveiled.

Karene Faul Alumni Show 2019 Reception
Rachel Baxter ’11 and Daesha Devón Harris ’02, graduates of the studio art program, are featured in this exhibition. The two artists will show work consisting of mixed media works, photography and a site-specific sculpture.

Open Gallery Garden Party
Get to this launch party for Open Gallery, the new placemaking and public art program presented by the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District and Albany Center Gallery. ACG will curate local art to transform Albany’s side streets and alleyways into vibrant, active connective corridors.

Pop-Up Craft Beer Garden 
Peruse the “In-faux-structure” exhibit reception in Opalka as Joe Barna’s Sketches of Influence will perform with special guest Stacy Dillard and Druthers will be pouring the brews. Food trucks onsite include Market Pops small batch popsicles and Slidin’ Dirty gourmet sliders and apps.

AUDITION: ‘Pride & Prejudice’
The RPI Players are holding an open audition for their production of “Pride and Prejudice,” running Nov. 11-23. Non-binary actors and actors of color are encouraged to come out for their favorite role in the classic story. Please prepare a two-minute comic monologue and come dressed for movement. Dan Rather 
Journalist and author Dan Rather will discuss his new book a collection of essays called “What Unites Us: Reflections on Patriotism.”

Steve Turre
The Californian jazz trombonist, composer, arranger,and educator (as well as a pioneer of using seashells as instruments) has been active in jazz, rock, and Latin jazz  for 55 years. Turre has performed and produced work in live venues, recording studios, television and film. He has been a member of the Saturday Night Live Band since 1984.

Exhumanity Presents: The Exyversary feat. Worms of the Earth

Eastbound Throwdown

Art & Yoga at The Hyde

14th Annual Little Italy StreetFest

Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival
The 18th annual jazz fest features performances from The Bad Plus, Dizzy Gillespie All Stars, Black Tie Brass, Skip Parsons Riverboat Jazz Band, Charlie Apicella & Iron City and more.

Caribbean Day In The Park

Arabic Calligraphy Workshop
Nada Odeh will lead this workshop with a presentation about Arabic calligraphy and its styles, a demonstration of how it is written and what materials are used. Participants will be able to practice writing the Arabic calligraphy. This workshop is a companion to NY Folklore’s current exhibit of traditional Turkish paper marbling by ebru artist and Buffalo resident Hatice Erbas-Sorkunlu.

Five Kill Birthday Bash
The local, independent record label Five Kill Records has spent the year releasing albums by fantastic Capital Region artists (and beyond) like Bear Grass, Blue Ranger, The Abyssmals, Pony and the Pancake and more. To celebrate, they’re throwing a show featuring label artists an other local favorites Front Biz, Laveda, Full Body, Greens and Bruiser and Bicycle.

KATANI & Sunny War

Albany VegFest 2019
The longest running vegan festival in upstate New York, hosted by Capital Region Vegan Network (CRVN), will feature nearly 100 exhibitors, as well as expert speakers, vegan food, a children’s zone and more.

Free Day at World Awareness Children’s Museum
The museum is open until 5 PM and free, thanks to donations and a special contribution from Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match. Bring the kiddos to explore the various cultures of the world without leaving the region.

Balún, Dark Honey, Laveda
The rescheduled Rockin’ on the River gig lives again, led by the Brooklyn-based electronic indie band Balún, Troy rock band Dark Honey and the dream pop crew Laveda.

Sunday Songwriter’s Series: Amani O+
The raptivist, poet and storyteller is known for weaving her influences of music, film, speech and poetry into art that addresses social injustice, honors the ancestors and inspires transformation. The night’s performance will be hosted by Michael Gregg.

Hellions Roller Derby Recruitment Night
The Hellions of Troy are in search of referees, skaters and non-skating officials over 18 years old to join their team. There is no experience (or any skating skills for that matter) necessary, you’ll learn everything you need to know in training. Dress in comfortable clothes, the team will be demonstrating derby skills, providing information about the league and teaching basic skating.
